What We Offer Our Clients…

RHDD (Residential Home for the Developmentally Disabled) provides supportive services enabling people to live comfortable, fulfilling lives at home.  Both private housing and group homes are included in our services to clients with developmental disabilities.

RHDD is approved to access Federal Medicaid dollars under the OBRA Waiver and certified for the Individual Options Waiver, allowing people with disabilities to live in the setting of their choice.  Our staff provides up to 24-hour assistance to encourage clients to achieve the highest quality of life possible.

RHDD will further reduce the demands of community living by accepting payee ship for clients.  This enables RHDD to pay bills and budget for the clients.  As payee, staff will encourage clients to participate in managing their money to the best of their capabilities.

Our clients may receive transportation for grocery shopping, attending recreational activities, and running personal errands.  The RHDD fleet includes double wheelchair accessible vans and five passenger cars.  Clients are also encouraged to access their own transportation throughout the community to increase their mobility and independence.

In Addition, We’re Unique…

Total care is available for clients who need it.  Some have 24-hour care while living in private housing.

Our RHDD team consists of an experienced and innovative staff able to provide individual attention to each client.  Governed by a Board of Directors, we offer the professional services of Program Manager, Program Assistants and Direct Support Professionals able to offer one-on-one attentions.  All staff members are required to train annually in areas relevant to clients needs to adapt to a constantly changing field.

RHDD conducts internal QA reviews and spot checks on a regular basis.  The individual conducting the review surveys various items including client finances, ISP documentation, medications, the relative condition of the home, etc.

RHDD provides an on call rotation to provide to staff and individuals served, access to supervisors 24 hours a day.  A direct care person is trained to be the primary on call person.  They handle staff call offs and other minor occurrences.  The primary on call person has access to the supervisor on call.  The supervisor can handle more serious problems such as an MUI, illness, etc.  The supervisor on call has all the administrative staff home numbers, cell phones, and personal pagers.

In addition to our system of On Calls, are our weekly spot checks.  In other counties we utilize our Client Group Managers to drop in, at staggered times, in the homes to check to make sure things are being done correctly.  In Morgan County we would utilize the home supervisor to do these checks.

RHDD has its own First Aid and CPR trainer so we are able to keep our employees up to date on our training.

RHDD does a pre-employment BCI check on all employees.

In addition to required training, RHDD has on staff a TAPS instructor.  We provide TAPS training to all employees with priority given to employees that work with the people with behavior problems.
